Air ambulance called after child hit by car in Aberdare

An air ambulance was called after a child was hit by a car in Aberdare .

The Welsh Ambulance Service said it received a call at around 4.30pm to reports of a child being hit by a car on Cardiff Road.

A land ambulance was called and arrived 20 minutes later.

An air ambulance was also called, but the patient was conveyed to Prince Charles Hospital in Merthyr Tydfil by land ambulance.

The child's injuries are unknown, but they are not thought to be life-threatening.

South Wales Police confirmed it was also in attendance.

Duty Inspector Mark Saunders said: "Someone was hit by a car, but they have non-serious injuries."
