Air ambulance called after car hits tree in Sandiacre crash

An air ambulance was called after a car hit a tree in Sandiacre.

The collision took place just after 12pm on Monday, November 1, on Ilkeston Road in the town.

Police attended the scene as well and the ambucopter was scrambled - they said they had responded to reports that a car had hit a tree.

The force urged motorists to avoid the area if possible while crews worked at the scene.

A spokesperson for Derbyshire Constabulary said: "Officers are at the scene of a collision in Sandiacre.

"We were called to Ilkeston Road shortly after noon following reports that a car had collided with a tree.

"An air ambulance has landed at the scene. Please avoid the area at this time."
