Air ambulance called after boy, 12, falls down Ayrshire quarry

A 12-year-old boy has been rushed to hospital after falling down an Ayrshire quarry.

Emergency services raced to Hillhouse Quarry near Dundonald around 4pm on Saturday afternoon.

An air ambulance was called to the scene as onlookers witnessed police officers, paramedics and fire service all attended.

Police have confirmed that a 12-year-old boy had fallen at a quarry off Old Loans Road, close to Troon.

The boy was taken to the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow by air ambulance for treatment.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We were made aware of a 12-year-old boy having fallen at a quarry off Old Loans Road near Dundonald in Ayrshire around 4pm on Saturday, March 20.

"The boy was taken to the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow by air ambulance for treatment."
