Air ambulance and hazard response crew deployed to 'incident'

An air ambulance and a hazard response team were deployed to an incident in south Bristol this afternoon (Sunday). Witnesses reported seeing multiple police cars and an ambulance racing to the area.

Emergency crews were called to the Ashton Rise area of Bristol at 4.20pm. A double-crewed land ambulance, the Specialist HART (Hazardous Area Response Team) and an air ambulance all raced to the scene.

The details on what happened are currently limited, but a resident living nearby said the air ambulance was on the ground for around 30 minutes before taking off again.

The ambulance service confirmed in a statement that a patient was taken to hospital by land ambulance.

A spokesperson for South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust said: “We received a call at 1620 regarding an incident in the Ashton Rise area of Bristol.

"A number of resources were sent including a Double Crewed Ambulance, Specialist HART (Hazardous Area Response Team) and an air ambulance. A patient was conveyed to hospital by land ambulance.”
