Excitement is building ahead of Saturday's Grand National - but the racing has already began.
The Aintree festival is one of the most anticipated events on the calendar and brings some of the most entertaining horse racing on the calendar every year.
Thursday is opening day at Aintree, the first of the three days of racing at the world-famous venue.
