The Grand National is back after a one year break due to the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic, however due to lockdown restrictions visitors will be unable to attend the festival.
This year it will run from Thursday, April 8 to Saturday, April 10 and aired on ITV.
Despite the disappointment of lockdown once again overlapping with the big race, punters are eager to watch the 173rd annual meeting.
Every year it takes a big effort behind the scenes to organise such a festival and this year is no different.
A series of road closures are to be implemented in and around Aintree to facilitate the transport management plan for the Grand National.
Here is the full list of each road closure that will be in place, the dates of the closures and the diversions available:
From 12pm on Wednesday, April 7 until 9pm Saturday, April 10, Melling Road will be closed at the junction of Seeds Lane to the junction of Aintree Lane. Strictly no through road.
The diversion is Melling Road, Warbreck Moor, Ormskirk Road, Aintree Lane and Vice Versa.
From 7am-8pm Thursday, April 8, Friday, April 9 and Saturday, April 10, Seeds Lane and Melling Road will be closed daily.
From 7am to 8pm on Thursday, April 8 and Friday, April 9, Melling Road will be closed at the junction of Greenwich Road to Seeds Lane. (Access will be granted to residents who can provide proof of a address with a utility bill)

From 7am to 9pm on Saturday. April 10, Melling Road will be closed at the junction of Greenwich Road to Seeds Lane. (Access will be granted to residents who can provide proof of a address with a utility bill)
From 7am to 8pm on Thursday, April 8 and Friday, April 9, Seeds lane will be closed from Railway bridge to Melling Road. (Access will be granted to residents who can provide proof of a address with a utility bill)
From 7am to 9pm on Saturday. April 10, Seeds Lane will be closed from Railway bridge to Melling Road. (Access will be granted to residents who can provide proof of a address with a utility bill)
A further closure may be implemented at Longmoor Lane and Seeds Lane junction as required to ease congestion.
Parking restrictions will be in place across the three days from Thursday, April 8 until Saturday, April 10 and no waiting cones will be placed for guidance of drivers, as follows:
Aintree Lane both sides from the junction of Ormskirk Road to the junction roundabout at Wango Lane.
Ormskirk Road both sides from Topham Drive to the junction of Warbreck Moor and Melling Road.
Melling Road both sides from Warbreck Moor to the junction with Seeds Lane.
Seeds Lane both sides to the junction of Longmoore Lane.
Greenwich Road Cemetery side only to the junction of Longmoore Lane.
