'Ainsley Maitland-Niles is reborn!' - Arsenal fans make huge prediction over Cedric Soares deal

Arsenal have completed their second signing of the January transfer window after Cedric Soares joined the Gunners on loan from Southampton.

The 28-year-old has signed on loan until the end of the season from Southampton, after spending four-and-a-half years with the south coast club.

Cedric, who is out of contract in the summer at Southampton, becomes Arsenal's second signing of the January transfer window after completing a deal for Spanish defender Pablo Mari.

His arrival adds more defensive reinforcements to Mikel Arteta's side, with the right-back having Premier League experience, having played 120 times in the top flight for Southampton.

Everything you need to know about the January transfer window

He will now provide added competition at full-back for Arteta, with Hector Bellerin recently returning from a long-term injury.

But it is the knock-on effect on Ainsley Maitland-Niles, who has been playing out of position at right-back at times for Arsenal, that has got some Gunners fans talking.

Here's what they have had to say on social media about the deal.

Cedric will not be available for the weekend's clash with Burnley though.

The Portuguese full-back is currently injured, having gone off with a hamstring problem in Southampton's 2-0 win against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park last week.

He is expected to be out for a couple of weeks.
