Ainsdale Beach flooded with visitors as people bask in glorious weather

Ainsdale Beach was packed out with visitors today as families flocked to the coast to make the most of the glorious weather.

There were long queues along the Coastal Road on the approach to the beach as people flocked to the area this morning.

But as the queues started to ease, beach-goers laid out their towels and picnics for a day at the beach, as these images captured by ECHO photographer Andrew Teebay show.

People braved a swim in the sea while others enjoyed ice creams in the sunshine as the glorious bank holiday weather lasted throughout Monday.

Visitors flocked to Ainsdale beach as the ongoing coronavirus restrictions make foreign holidays unobtainable for many. But with such a stunning coastline right on our doorstep, Ainsdale proved a popular choice.

The day started off slowly for the seaside village as a mix up with the beach barrier caused gridlocked traffic to build up throughout Ainsdale and down the Coastal Road.

Once on the beach, people have been making the most of the glorious weather. Thousands travelled to see the golden sands and the dunes Ainsdale has to offer.
