It sounds like the Boston Celtics are planning on playing it safe with All-Star forward Jaylen Brown’s sprained ankle, with the Georgia native reportedly not expected to take the court again until this weekend.
Speaking to the media during his weekly appearance on the popular New England sports radio show “Toucher and Rich“, Celtics Team President Danny Ainge revealed when the franchise expects Brown to return to action from a sprained ankle aggravated by a collision with teammate Jayson Tatum on Sunday. [It’s] “looking like he’ll probably be returning on Sunday,” said Ainge, which would have the Cal-Berkeley product out for Friday’s game against the Chicago Bulls.
But, Brown sounds as if he will be available for the first of two road games against the Miami Heat, which Boston will likely need to win at least one of to be safe from falling to the East’s seventh-place spot and a tussle in the play-in tournament.

So long as no other injuries pop up in the meantime, Boston ought to be able to handle the Bulls with a focused effort.
But, the proposition of defeating the Heat without Brown seems a tough one, making the cautious approach the right way to approach the run-up to the postseason.
