AIM Independent Music Awards - Gerry Cinnamon nominated for best live act

It seems not a week goes by where we don't shout about one of the many achievements of the city's favourite singer/songwriter.

And now, fresh from his TRNSMT appearance at the weekend, Gerry Cinnamon has been shortlisted for a major UK accolade.

The Castlemilk superstar is one of the best live act nominees at this year's AIM Independent Music Awards, which take place at the Roundhouse in Camden in September.

He's up against some big names including Christine and the Queens, Fat White Family, FKA Twigs, Idles and Interpol, but we definitely still rate his chances.

Championing industry-leading creativity, innovation and performance from across the independent music community, the glitzy ceremony is set to feature iconic guitarist and former Smiths member Johnny Marr, who will showcase his legendary talents as the headliner for the event, which is hosted by radio royalty Lauren Laverne.

Past winners at the event have included Wolf Alice, London Grammar, Stormzy, Adele and The Prodigy.

So we can't wait to see big Gerry's name up there!
