A Scottish engineering and construction firm has bought a local fabrication company for an undisclosed sum.
AIM Group, headquartered in the Carron Works industrial estate in Falkirk, acquired BCS, which is also located in Falkirk.
Blair McDonald, managing director at AIM Group, said: “This is a strategic acquisition which further enhances our service offering to existing and new clients.
“BCS is a well-respected fabrication company within our industry and there are synergies between AIM and BCS in regard to client base and sector offerings.
“With the acquisition now in place, AIM Group will leverage the experience of BCS to further develop opportunities in steel and pipework fabrication as well as onsite installation.”
“The staff currently employed by BCS have a wealth of knowledge and experience that AIM are looking forward to utilising in future projects and they will be welcomed with remuneration that reflects our delight to have them join us.”
AIM Group worked with ExxonMobil in 2019 to carry out an inspection survey to assess the condition of its ethylene export facilities in Braefoot Bay.
The survey found that "significant fabric maintenance and steelwork remediation was necessary for operational lifecycle extension of the asset" following more than 30 operational years in the marine environment.
AIM was successful through ExxonMobil’s tendering process in the award of project phases 1 and 2 for the 20-year lifecycle extension of the asset.
