Aikenhead Road shut down after crash in Glasgow south side

A major road in the south side of Glasgow has been shut down following a crash.

Glasgow City Council confirmed police have closed the road northbound at Propsecthill Road.

Police diversions are currently in place.

Details of the incident at this stage are unknown and Glasgow Live have contacted Police Scotland for further comment.

Glasgow City Council's Traffic Control and Management team (TRAFFCOM) advised shortly before 1pm this afternoon: "Due to an RTC Aikenhead Road is closed Northbound at Prospecthill Road.

"The road will remain closed until recovery can be completed.

"Follow Police Direction."

UPDATE: Glasgow City Council have confirmed the road has reopened.
