Graham Norton is appealing for your help to ensure thousands of people across the world can discover their HIV status and get the treatment they need.

The TV presenter today delivers the eighth of the AIDSfree appeal's 12 Days of Christmas messages, asking for donations to support the Elton John AIDS Foundation's projects that boost awareness of HIV and fund access to testing and treatment, both in the UK and abroad.

Norton says in his message: "It's extraordinary to me that there are so many people across the world, and even in this city, who are living with HIV but they do not know they have the virus.

"These people are very much at risk, but they do not need to be.

"These days anyone who is diagnosed can live a full, healthy life so testing is of the utmost importance.

"So let's get behind this campaign to help thousands around the globe get tested for HIV.

"By donating today you are bringing men, women and children everywhere one step closer to a test that can save their lives."

The 12 Days of Christmas series is featuring a personal appeal from a high-profile backer or HIV campaigner each day pledging support for our campaign through to Christmas Eve.

Other backers have included James Corden , Victoria Beckham , Taron Egerton , Victor Wanyama and David Walliams .
