Aidan O'Shea replaced as Mayo captain as Stephen Coen takes over

Stephen Coen has been named as the new Mayo captain in a leadership shake up under James Horan.

Coen will take over from Aidan O'Shea who captained the side to the 2021 All-Ireland final.

And the county also announced their vice-captains with Tommy Conroy and Paddy Durcan named.

Coen made his debut back in 2015 against Dublin and has been a regular feature in the side since.

O'Shea was named captain for the past two seasons and Diarmuid O'Connor captained the side in 2019.

Mayo made it all the way to last year's All-Ireland final and ended Dublin's undefeated Championship streak en route to the final.

However, James Horan's side served up a lacklustre display against Tyrone as the Red Hand went on to capture their first All-Ireland title since 2008.
