Elon Musk has again made it to the headlines as he tweeted that his company xAI is developing a fully AI-generated video game, which will arrive by the end of 2026. The project is led by xAI’s newly formed game studio, that integrates advanced AI tech into interactive entertainment.

The upcoming game will be built using xAI’s Grok model, which Musk claims will eventually be capable of dynamically generating playable video games. To make that possible, the company is now hiring “Video Game Tutors” professionals with expertise in game design, storytelling, and player experience to train and refine Grok’s creative and gameplay judgment.
According to the listings, these tutors will help Grok learn how to assess gameplay quality, creativity, and engagement. The roles offer compensation of up to $100 per hour, targeting developers with indie game experience and a deep understanding of current game design trends.
While Musk’s announcement has sparked excitement, some industry experts remain cautious. They question whether AI can independently produce a high-quality, engaging game within the next two years, given the complexities of real-time gameplay design and player feedback systems.
Still, this project marks one of the most ambitious attempts yet to create a game entirely powered by AI from concept and code to art and story. If successful, it could redefine how video games are built, offering players experiences that evolve uniquely with every playthrough.
