A man in his 30s has been hospitalised after he was attacked by three masked men armed with a hammer.

Police say they received a report of an aggravated burglary at a house on Brook Street, Ahoghill on Thursday night, May 3 at 11pm.

The man who was in the house alone at the time, suffered injuries to his head and body and was taken to hospital for treatment.

The masked men made off from the scene in a dark coloured car that was driven by a fourth person.
