AHMEDABAD: A 29-year-old woman from Wadaj filed a complaint with Wadaj police on Sunday, alleging that she was abducted by her ex-boyfriend and his two aides from a hotel in Usmanpura, and assaulted. The incident, according to her FIR, took place on Saturday evening. Amrita Rajput, the complainant, works with a private firm near Parimal Garden.
In her FIR, she stated that she started working for a man named Ketan Barot in an education consultancy firm in 2015 and left the job in January. She also stated in the FIR that she was in a relationship with Barot but as she knew that he was married, she broke up with him and left the job.
Rajput said that Barot had been stalking her for the past 10 days, pressuring her to come back to him. On Saturday evening, when she was returning home from her workplace, Barot's friends, Hardik Joshi and Naveen Rai, allegedly stopped her saying Barot wanted to meet her.
They kept her confined near a hotel in Usmanpura till Barot arrived at the spot in a car. On his instruction, they pushed her into the car. The car took the Wadaj circle-Subhash Bridge-Sabarmati route and stopped at a secluded spot in Zundal. Her FIR stated that Barot beat her up in the car and even broke her cellphone when she attempted to call the cops. It was only after his friend asked him to stop beating her that Barot got out of the car, the complaint stated. At that opportune moment, she managed to flee from the car and hire an autorickshaw. She later approached the police and filed a complaint of abduction and causing hurt against Barot and his two friends.
