AHMEDABAD: A 51-year-old woman, Meena Patel, has lodged a complaint of cheating and breach of trust with the Satellite police against her husband Sanjay Patel. According to the complaint, Sanjay allegedly sold shares which were in the name of Meena and later transferred Rs 5 crore in his individual account.
The complainant, who is a resident of Shivranjani Crossroads, has stated that she was a partner in SRN Corporation and hence held a joint account with her husband Sanjay in a bank on Ashram Road. She stated that she had a Demat account also with the same bank and had several shares listed in her account.
She said that there was a dispute between them over some financial issues. The complainant stated that when she checked the Demat account in October 2021, she realized that several shares of a company were sold and when she inquired from the company situated in Mumbai as to where the money was transferred, she realized that an amount of Rs 4.91 crore was transferred to her account which was a joint account with her husband.
She stated that on further inquiry from the bank in the city, it was revealed that her husband had transferred the amount in his personal account. She then lodged a complaint against her husband.
