AHMEDABAD: A 21-year-old security guard has been stabbed at a hospital near Shivranjani Crossroads in the Satellite area over a parking dispute.
Sandip Parihar, a resident of Silicon Valley in Satellite, was knifed late on Saturday night. Parihar has filed an FIR with Satellite police. He said he is on duty between 8am and 8pm every day at HCC Hospital at Sheetal-Varsha Complex.
On Saturday night, when Parihar went to take his tiffin box from the ground floor of the complex, he spotted two men fighting over parking. Parihar said that he tried to pacify the men, but one of the car owners began fighting with him. The car owner had three men with him at the time.
Parihar said that one of the four men asked him why he was not managing the parking. Parihar told them that his job was to ensure security at the hospital and that he was not responsible for parking.
“The four men then began abusing me and one of them slapped me,” Parihar told police. “When I protested, they thrashed me severely and one of them stabbed me on the left side of my abdomen.” He said the four men fled the scene after knifing him.
Parihar said that he then called his roommate Aalok Singh and received treatment at HCC Hospital. He was later shifted to Shardaben Hospital in Saraspur. He is in the ICU and his condition is said to be critical. Satellite police officers said that the car of the four attackers did not have any number plate. Cops have been recovering CCTV footage to track the men. Satellite police have registered a case of causing grievous hurt, uttering abusive words, and abetment. However, the men have not been charged with attempt to murder despite Parihar’s serious condition.
