AHMEDABAD: With city recording 79 new positive cases on Sunday the rise in Covid cases continued.
It was 56% of the state's total tally of 140. On Friday and Saturday, the city had recorded 83 and 80 cases respectively.
With discharge of 42 patients, the active cases in city reached 436. It was 56% of the state's total active cases at 778. None of the active cases were on ventilator, according to the state health department.
Other cases in Gujarat included 21 in Vadodara city, 11 in Surat city, 5 in Gandhinagar, 4 in Mehsana, 3 each in Rajkot city, Kutch and Sabarkantha districts among others. With the update, 10 out of 33 districts of Gujarat have zero active cases.
Gujarat in 24 hours vaccinated 129 persons for the first dose and 1,566 for the second. In all, 5.4 crore people were administered first and 5.29 crore people second dose of Covid vaccine.
The state administered booster doses to 4,984 persons, taking total to 36.06 lakh.
