Ahmedabad: Power outage in Sola Civil Hospital troubles patients, relatives

AHMEDABAD: A section of Sola Civil Hospital experienced a power outage on a humid Monday afternoon, inconveniencing patients and their relatives. The officials said that it was part of scheduled repairs, but the process took more time than expected.

Sources said that the patients and their relatives, drenched in sweat, were seen fanning themselves with newspapers and cardboard pieces. Dr Pradip Patel, the hospital’s resident medical officer, said that an elevator malfunction warranted repairs in E block of the hospital. “While it was expected that the work would take 30 minutes, it took more time. However, patients in the emergency ward were not affected by the power cut,” he said.
