AHMEDABAD: A 36-year-old woman, Chandrika Parmar registered a complaint against her husband Bharat Parmar under IPC 326 (B) — voluntarily causing grievous hurt by use of acid. The incident took place on Wednesday evening.
Chandrika in her complaint stated that she has been staying in Odhav with her two daughters for the last nine months and works in a powder coating company. She stated that she had separated from her husband.
On Wednesday, when she left her office she was accompanied by Kokila Marathi and Madhu Parmar. As they were passing near the tea stall of Chaggan Rabari, her husband stopped her and asked her if she wanted to stay with him.
She replied in negative and told her husband that he should stay happily with his mother. She then started walking towards her home when her husband took out a plastic bottle which had acid.
She stated that Rabari suddenly poured acid on her head after which she started shouting for help.
The complainant said that the passers-by seeing her in pain called 108. She was rushed to the civil hospital and the doctors stated that she had received injuries on her face and head. Chandrika later lodged the complaint with Odhav police.
The police have registered a case and further investigation is on. The cops are looking for Bharat who stays near Torrent Power in Odhav area.
