AHMEDABAD: The city on Wednesday recorded 254 new Covid positive cases, taking the active cases to 1,748. Gujarat recorded 742 new cases; there were 4,225 active cases. Of the active patients, three were on ventilators.
Other cases included 75 in Surat city, 63 in Mehsana, 41 in Vadodara city, 40 in Bhavnagar city, 32 in Surat, 24 in Gandhinagar city, and 23 in Gandhinagar district among others. Out of the 33 districts, five had zero active cases. Experts said that hospitalizations have remained low, even as cases of fever and cold are on the rise following the recent spells of rain in several districts of the state.
In 24 hours, Gujarat vaccinated 2,333 persons for the first dose and 7,428 for the second. In all, 5.41 crore were administered the first dose and 5.35 crore, the second dose of Covid vaccine. The state administered booster doses to 20,780 persons .
