AHMEDABAD: The daily Covid cases in the city came a notch down on Sunday to 156 compared to 166 on Saturday. With discharge of 117 patients, the active cases reached 1,089 in city. For Gujarat, the figure was 2,463. Out of total active cases, 2 were on ventilator, said the state health department officials.
Apart from Ahmedabad, almost all other cities recorded rise in cases - Surat city recorded 79 cases on Sunday, followed by 59 in Vadodara city, 14 in Gandhinagar city, 9 in Rajkot city, and 5 in Bhavnagar city.
Only 6 out of 33 districts in Gujarat now have zero active Covid cases.
Experts said that for the past few days, non-urban areas have also recorded rise in Covid cases. The hospitalization however has remained low.
Gujarat in 24 hours vaccinated 461 persons for the first dose and 2,090 for the second. In all, 5.4 crore are administered first and 5.32 crore second dose of Covid vaccine. The state administered booster doses to 6,937 persons, taking total to 39.57 lakh.
