Ahmedabad: Carpenter robbed on bridge

AHMEDABAD: A 49-year-old man from Motera filed a complaint at Ranip police station stating that two men snatched Rs 50,000 cash from him on Subhash Bridge on Sunday afternoon.

Kishanlal Suthar, a resident of Lakshminagar in Motera, said he was doing carpentry work at a house in Shahibaug. He said he had taken Rs 50,000 for the work, which he was to distribute among his workers.

Suthar said he received the money from his client and was returning to Motera via Subhash Bridge on his scooter.

When he was near Metropole Hotel, two motorcycle-borne men began riding parallel to his scooter and alleged that he had hit them.

Suthar rubbished the charge saying he had not even touched them. This seemed to irk the men who assaulted Suthar, snatched the Rs 50,000 cash from him and fled.

Suthar approached Ranip police and filed a complaint of loot and abetment against two men.
