AHMEDABAD: A 35-year-old man slashed the face and neck of his ex-wife's husband near a multiplex in Bapunagar late on Thursday.
Damini Thakur, 31, a resident of Nava Naroda, said in her FIR with Shaherkotda police that her ex-husband Nitesh Yadav slashed at the nose, lips and throat of her husband Sunny Thakor for marrying her.
Damini said in her FIR that she had married Yadav in 2010 and she had two kids with him. As Damini and Yadav did not have cordial relations, they decided to separate from each other, mentioned the FIR.
In 2013, Damini married Yadav's close friend Sunny and the couple began living in Nava Naroda. Since then, Yadav and Sunny fought multiple times over Damini.
On Thursday evening, a common friend of Damini and Sunny called her up and informed that Sunny suffered severe injuries in an attack by Yadav. Sunny was rushed to Civil hospital where he was admitted to the trauma centre.
Due to severe injuries, Sunny was not able to reveal details about his attacker but witnesses identified him as Yadav, said a police officer.
Shaherkotda police on Friday registered a complaint of causing severe injuries against Yadav and began an investigation into the case.
