Aguero trains and Oduroh joins Champions League squad plus more spotted in Man City training before PSG

Manchester City quickly put their Carabao Cup success behind them as they trained on Monday ahead of the Champions League semi-final with Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday.

City travel to France for the semi-final first leg this week, with manager Pep Guardiola admitting that he had to consider both games before choosing his team on Sunday.

Most of the players who didn't play a significant part at Wembley were spotted in an active training session in footage put out by the club, while those who played in the win over Tottenham were seen in a light session in the background.

In all 28 players were seen training on Monday, including returning striker Sergio Aguero and eight youngsters.

This is what we spotted from the footage:

Aguero looking sharp

Sergio Aguero returned to the City matchday squad at Wembley after another injury setback, but remained on the bench as his teammates won him a sixth League Cup winner's medal.

There were no signs of rustiness in Aguero on Monday, though, as he looked in good spirits and was joking around with teammates. With key games coming twice a week, Aguero's return to fitness will be a boost for everyone at City, who will hope he can end his glittering ten-year spell at the Etihad with one final hero moment.

Ten youngsters in training

There was a new face in first team training as under-18 captain Kwaku Oduroh was added to the group (main picture). He has also been added to City's Champions League squad, potentially putting him in line for a senior call-up for the trip to France.

Also in training were fellow youngsters James Trafford, Tommy Doyle, Cole Palmer, Adrian Bernabe, James McAtee, Liam Delap, Felix Nmecha, Juan Larios and Claudio Gomes. All but Delap, Larios and Gomes are on the club's 'B List' and will presumably be on standby for the semi-final.

Philippe Sandler, the 24-year-old defender who has returned from long-term injury with some appearances for the U23s. However, he isn't eligible to play in the Champions League.

First XI recover from Wembley

With this training session coming on Monday, the players who were used at Wembley were given a light recovery session and were seen in the background of the footage jogging around the training pitch at the City Football Academy.

Ilkay Gundogan, Phil Foden, Riyad Mahrez, Ruben Dias, Raheem Sterling and Kyle Walker could be seen sharing a joke as spirits were understandably high following their cup success of the previous day. Zack Steffen and Ederson were also spotted heading to their goalkeeper training area.

Carson joins the outfield players

Third-choice goalkeeper Scott Carson plays a key role in the squad, offering assistance with coaching and using his experience to help younger members of the first team. After missing some squads recently, he's now back in training and was even taking part in the outfield players' rondo drills.

The veteran goalkeeper was seen stopping passes from Gabriel Jesus and Bernardo Silva, but also giving the ball away once or twice to end up in the middle.
