'Agreed a deal' - Nottingham Forest set to make first signing of January transfer window

Nottingham Forest appear set to make their first signing of the January transfer window, with Huddersfield winger Adama Diakhaby expected to arrive.

It’s understood the out-of-favour Terrier will arrive at the City Ground on loan and provide competition for wingers Joe Lolley and Sammy Ameobi, say Sky Sports.

Diakhaby, who signed for the Terriers at the start of their final season in the Premier League has fallen out of favour since Danny Cowley’s arrival at the club last year.

He has been left out of the last nine Championship squads, after being involved in 18 of their first 19 league games.

In his 18 league appearances he has three assists, but has yet to open his account for the Yorkshire club.

It is understood that the 23-year-old Frenchman is no longer in Cowley’s and will move to Nottingham.

“We are in a place where we have agreement as a football club and with (some) players that the best thing would be to find them football elsewhere,” Cowley said of possible departures.

Sabri Lamouchi has been desperate to add to his attacking options this month, with Lewis Grabban the Reds' only senior attacking option after Rafa Mir's loan from Wolves was cut short last week.
