LUCKNOW: G Muniraj, the SSP of Agra, where a dalit youth died in police custody early this week, was among the 14 IPS officers shifted on Saturday. In all, seven districts got new police chiefs.
SSP, Azamgarh, Sudhir Kumar Singh has been posted as SSP, Agra, while G Muniraj has been shifted in the same capacity to the election cell at DGP headquarters.
Similarly, SP Intelligence, Bareilly, Anurag Arya was transferred to Azamgarh as SSP.
SP, Barabanki, Yamuna Prasad, was shifted to Bareilly as SP Intelligence and SP, PAC, Moradabad, Anurag Vats, was assigned the post of SP, Barabanki.
SP, Saharanpur, S Channapa was shifted to the security establishment, and Akash Tomar who was attached to the DGP headquarters was sent to Saharanpur as the new SP.
SP, Unnao, Avinash Pandey was appointed as SP, PAC in Aligarh while Dinesh Tripathi who was DCP in Gautam Budh Nagar was shifted as SP Unnao.
Similarly, SSP Etawah, Brijesh Kumar was shifted to Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) in the same capacity while SP ATS Jai Prakash Singh was made SSP Etawah.
DCP Ankur Agarwal of GB Nagar was made SP, Chandauli while SP, Chandauli Amit Kumar was shifted in the same capacity to GB Nagar.
Akhilesh Nigam who was posted as SP, PAC, in Aligarh was transferred to the cooperative cell at DGP headquarters in the same capacity.
