LUCKNOW: The mining department on Monday suspended an inspector posted in Agra for dereliction of duty and negligence after trucks were found carrying sand without an inter-state pass.
Senior officials of the mining and geology department carried out an inspection in Agra on the intervening night of May 27-28.
During the inspection, the officials came across trucks carrying sand that were from Rajasthan and MP. However, their documents were not complete. Secretary of the mining and geology department, Roshan Jacob said that vehicles being used to ferry the minerals did not possess the inter-state transit pass. It surfaced that the local mining officials were allegedly taking bribes to allow the vehicles to violate rules.
