Agony uncle ecstasy for workie Jack

For a lot of 17-year-olds, work experience means making tea and doing lots of photocopying, but not for radio production student Jack Warren. The aspiring DJ from Southend got the career break of a lifetime when he sent an email to Virgin Radio breakfast host Christian O'Connell asking if he could sit in on his show. Warren instead found himself broadcasting to millions as the show's agony uncle. O'Connell told Monkey: "It's tough when you're starting out and no one ever gets back to you so we decided to help the guy out and give him a day's work experience like no other. I think he definitely got that, I just hope we haven't put him off working in radio for life." Not one to miss an opportunity, Jack also managed to get in a plug in for his Friday night 90s show on hospital radio. However, he might want to learn from O'Connell - the DJ also started out on hospital radio but was fired after four days for pretending he couldn't play a listener request because the patient had died.
