Agnipath scheme: Rajasthan Congress to stage protest today

JAIPUR: Congress Rajya Sabha MP Deepender Hooda has cleared that Congress will fight tooth and nail until the Union government withdraws the Agnipath scheme at a press conference held in Jaipur on Sunday. Hooda also informed that Congress MLAs and leaders will hold a protest in all 200 constituencies on Monday as part of their series of protests in the country.

“Modi government should not undermine the future of the youth and weaken the armed forces by injecting ‘neither desirable nor feasible’ recruitment model,” said Hooda, who exuded confidence that like the union government has apologized to the farmers and withdrew the three laws, it will be withdrawing Agnipath scheme by apologizing to the youth.

Drawing a parallel between the farmer’s protest and Agnipath scheme, he said, for more than a year the farmers stayed in peace and restraint, which is why the farmers won. “The government should not waste time and concede to the demands of youths and the nation,” said Hooda.
