Then after a mid-length rally Keys sprays a forehand wide and Radwanska will have two match points for place int he semis. Keys saves the first when Radwanska nets a backhand, but can’t save the second as the Pole escapes with the win. She’s move through to the semis to face Garbiñe Muguruza.

An error by Radwanska makes it 15-30, but then Radwanska gets the best of a frenetic all-court rally – capped by a beautifully executed drop shot – to set up a pair of break-point chances for the pole. Keys saves the first with an overhand smash when a Radwanska drop shot is misplayed, but she can’t save the second: dumping a forehand into the net. Radwanska will serve for the match.

Keys with an error to fall behind 0-15, but earns it back with a 109mph ace down the T. Keys commits a forced error on a rally to fall behind 15-30, but pulls it back to 30-30 by wrong-footing Radwanska on a forehand winner. Forehand winner by Keys gives the American a set point at 40-30. Radwanska with a nice return on the 99mph serve out wide and Keys misfires the forehand long to bring it to deuce. Radwanska attempts a drop shot but it’s not nearly good enough: Keys anticipates it by miles, puts it away into the open court and Keys had three break points for a 5-3 lead. Radwanska saves the first when Keys nets a completely makeable forehand return, but Keys manages to get the break on the next point when she hits a netcord winner. Talk about good fortune. Now she’ll serve to force a third and deciding set.
