An agile pooch clinched victory from Ferguslie Star last night as he raced on to the pitch to save a strike on goal.
The canine showed his skills between the posts to pull off a cracker of a save when Star took on Vale of Leven AFC in the Greater Glasgow Premier AFL President’s Cup.

The Paisley striker had escaped the offside trap and was clean through on goal when he slid his shot by the Vale keeper.
But the impressive pooch stopped the ball on the line to prevent Ferguslie from going 3-1 ahead in the match.
Remarkably, the dog’s actions meant the ref chose not to allow the goal, which sparked a turn around for the home side who ended up taking the match 3-2.
Ferguslie Star tweeted: “A couple of late goals and the help of a stray dog seals the win for the home side.”
Vale of Leven also made fun of the incident after the game, tweeting a stock image of a golden retriever with its paw on a ball along with the caption: “Shout out to tonight’s man of the match for his goal line clearance”.
