'Aggressive' youths threaten women in early morning incident in Dublin after they refused to buy drugs

Residents in the Lusk area of Dublin are being warned to stay vigilant after two youths terrorised locals in the area in an early morning spree.

In the early hours of Easter Saturday morning, two women were approached by two young men on bicycles at Orlynn Park in Lusk.

The men, who were joking with the pair at first, asked the two women if they wanted "any hash" but the ladies rejected their offer.

The incident - which took place at 2am - escalated following the refusal and the "two youths became really aggressive and threatening" to the women.

The women asked the youths to leave numerous times and eventually they cycled towards the nearby SuperValu.

The incident left the women "shocked and disgusted" and they notified gardai straight away.

One of the girls gave a description of the two men.

One of the youths was wearing black shorts and a hoodie while the other was wearing a black Canada goose puffer jacket and shorts and was riding a green bike.

In a statement to Dublin Live, Gardai said they "were informed of an incident at Orlynn Park, Lusk at 2am on Saturday 20 April".

They added: "It is alleged two men stopped a female and became aggressive...investigations are continuing."

This incident happened just a couple of hours before a similar attack in nearby Rush, where a gang of youths attempted to steal items from locals after intimidating them while they were walking home from the pub on Saturday morning.

One man was walking home from the boozer with his wife when they were set upon by a youth on a bike who demanded his phone and money.

But the couple refused to hand over their items, and were verbally abused as they continued walking home.

The scary incident was shared on a local social group, with residents calling it "frightening".

The man said: "People be safe myself and my wife were set upon by two youths on bikes opposite the old Garda station in Rush walking home from Walshes tonight.

"One looked like he was keeping watch as we walked up towards Garda station. The other came out from around the corner demanding phones, money etc jumped of a bike but as we kept walking did not follow but kept verbally abusing us.

"I have reported this to Garda. Stay safe."
