Police and paramedics were called to a top Wirral hotel after an 'aggressive' man refused to leave his room.
Emergency services attended Thornton Hall Hotel & Spa , off Neston Road in Thornton Hough, this morning.
North West Ambulance Service confirmed its operators received a "concern for welfare" call from the four-star hotel.
An ambulance arrived at around 7.15am and paramedics tried to gain access to where a man was causing a disturbance.
They requested the attendance of Merseyside Police at around 7.45am, with officers then supporting their efforts.
A force spokesman said police received reports of a man in his 30s who was allegedly being aggressive towards paramedics.
After nearly three hours, the patient agreed to leave voluntarily with ambulance staff and was taken to hospital.
The ambulance service said its team left the popular wedding venue at around 9.55am.
There were unconfirmed reports that the man, who was behaving erratically, caused damage to property at the hotel.
The ECHO contacted Thornton Hall, but the hotel declined to comment on the incident.
Thornton Hall, which offers 62 bedrooms and an award-winning spa, was listed in the prestigious Michelin Guide last year .
The honour came just months after it won Best Tasting Afternoon Tea at the Afternoon Tea of the Year 2018 competition.
More than £5m has been invested in transforming its facilities, including refurbishment of the independently owned venue's bedrooms and spa areas.
