An 'aggressive man' was arrested after a woman was assaulted near an old pub in Rochdale.
The attack happened at around 9.40pm last night (Sunday) near the old Waggon and Horses on Manchester Road.
Officers were called to a report of an 'aggressive' man who is believed to have attacked a woman.
A man, aged in his 30s, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of common assault and battery.

He remains in police custody.
Several police cars were pictured stationed on the road after the incident last night.

In a statement, a GMP spokesperson said: "We were called shortly after 9.40pm on Sunday 9 January to a report of an aggressive man near the old Waggon and Horses pub on Manchester Road, Rochdale.
"The man is understood to have assaulted a woman before officers arrived and arrested a man in his 30s on suspicion of common assault and battery.
"He remains in custody."
