Agent tells Arsenal transfer criteria they must meet to sign Dominik Szoboszlai

Arsenal have received a boost in their pursuit of Dominik Szoboszlai after his agent admitted the Red Bull Salzburg star was edging "closer" to the exit.

The 20-year-old has been in impressive form for the Austrian outfit, drawing interested glances from clubs around Europe.

Salzburg have a good track record of developing young talent, with the likes of Sadio Mane, Erling Haaland and Takumi Minamino having passed through their doors in recent times gone by.

Midfielder Szoboszlai looks to be the next talent set to earn a big move, having only joined Salzburg on a free in 2018.

But his agent has made it clear Szoboszlai will only move to a club where he can continue his development with regular first-team opportunities.

Esterhazy Matyas told Digisport : "We’re seeing that every time he has a good game, which fortunately is happening quite often, the rumours are getting stronger.

“However, our strategy isn’t going to change because of one or two games,

“We have belief in our own plans and the vision we had originally is only getting stronger because all of the comments we are reading only prove that we are on the right path.

“Whether it’s in January or next summer, the most important thing is that he goes to a club where he will have a good chance of playing regularly and continuing the learning curve he started in Salzburg – that’s the most important thing for us."

He added: "Obviously, it’s no secret that Dominik is closer now to leaving the Austrian league."

Szoboszlai has been in red hot form for club and country so far this season, racking up a combined total of seven goals in 16 appearances.

Just last week he fired a 90th-minute winner for Hungary to send them through to next summer's European Championships after a late fightback against Iceland.

Arsenal would face significant competition should they look to land Szoboszlai's signature, with Everton, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid all reported to be interested in the £22m-rated star.
