Agent says Celtic want to sign Egyptian international with Parkhead club planning European loan deal

Egyptian international Mohamed Magdy is a reported Celtic transfer target.

The 24-year-old attacking midfielder is currently preparing for the African Champions League final with club Al-Ahly.

However his agent Abdelrahman Ismail says the Parkhead club are "very interested" in the player, and would look to sign him before loaning him out to another European club.

As reported by the Daily Record, the agent previously claimed Celtic made a move to sign him just before the October 5 transfer deadline.

And now says they are still very in the player, nicknamed Afsha.

He said: "Scottish club Celtic are very interested in the services of Al Ahly’s Mohamed Magdy Afsha.

"Celtic want to sign Afsha and then loan him out to a European club. However, Al Ahly is against the idea of letting the player go especially as they are preparing for the CAF Champions League final."
