'Agent Rudiger' - Chelsea fans will love the latest Kai Havertz transfer update

Chelsea's pursuit of Kai Havertz shows no sign of letting up.

And Blues supporters will be hoping to see some end product when it comes to getting the deal over the line.

Chelsea have been busy in the summer transfer window already, signing Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner for a combined more than £80million.

And they are likely to more than double that spending if they do complete a deal for Havertz, who has been in scintillating form for Bayer Leverkusen this season.

Havertz has notched 18 goals and laid on eight assists already this season and it is easy to see why he is in such high demand.

And his Germany team-mate Antonio Rudiger has already opened up on the transfer talk.

Speaking to Sky Germany the Chelsea centre-back said: "Kai is talented, when I saw him train with the Germany national team I was like, 'wow!'. I would be lying to you if I said I didn’t want him at Chelsea."

And according to Bild journalist Christian Falk, Rudiger has been doing even more than wishing he would be joined by Havertz - he has been trying to convince the youngster to join him in west London too.

Falk said on his Twitter account: "Agent Rudi is on his new mission! True: @ToniRuediger is in contact with Havertz since a couple of weeks and tries to convince him."

That will be music to Chelsea fans' ears.
