Manchester United fans have called on Rio Ferdinand to put his agent cap on to get the transfer of Raphael Varane over the line this summer.
The World Cup winner is currently on holiday after France exited Euro 2020 at the last 16 stage but has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford this summer as he enters the final year of his Real Madrid contract.
Manchester United are working on a deal for the 28-year-old and are slowly progressing towards a conclusion, although nothing is agreed yet. Fans of the club have called on a club legend to pull some strings to get the deal over the line.
Rio Ferdinand posted a picture on his Twitter account of him on a train with the caption "Manchester bound" and Reds fans used it as an opportunity to tell him to get involved and make some calls regarding getting Varane to the Theatre of Dreams.
Ferdinand has often teased fans regarding transfers online in the past and spoke recently about how he knew of Jadon Sancho's ability since he was a young child.
United are now prioritising a centre-back after sealing the deal for the 21-year-old winger earlier this week in a £73million deal.
