Agent hits back at claims Mohamed Salah discussed potential transfer from Liverpool to Real Madrid

Mohamed Salah’s agent has denied reports that his client told a member of Egypt’s coaching staff he rejected an offer from Real Madrid to leave Liverpool in 2018.

Former Chelsea man Salah enjoyed a sensational debut season at Anfield in 2017/18 following his return to the Premier League from Roma, netting 44 goals for the Reds.

His spectacular campaign ended in disappointment though with Salah going off with an injured shoulder in Liverpool’s 3-1 defeat to Real Madrid in the Champions League final in Kiev.

However, Egypt assistant coach Hany Ramzy claims that the 13-times European champions had made Salah “a really good offer” several weeks before, which the player discussed with him and the Argentine-born Egypt national team boss Hector Cuper.

Ramzy told OnTime Sports – via Goal: When I was working with Hector Cuper, we had a training camp in Switzerland [in March 2018].
“I was talking to Salah and he told me that Real Madrid had sent him an offer.

“The offer was really good, but Salah discussed it with me and Mr Cuper, and he decided to stay with Liverpool because he was comfortable there.”

These suggestions have now been rebuffed by Salah’s agent Ramy Abbas though.

Taking to social media, he wrote on Twitter : “Mohamed never discussed any career plans with any ex coach.”
