Emerson Palmieri may just be staying put despite talk of a departure from Chelsea during this window.
The Brazil-born Italy international appears to have fallen further down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge following the arrival of Ben Chilwell this summer.
Emerson now likely sits behind both Chilwell and Marcos Alonso as far as competition for the starting left-back is concerned, and that has seen him linked with a return to Italy.
Juventus - as well as Inter - have been linked in recent weeks, but according to Emerson's agent, there have been no talks over a move and the player is focused on his Chelsea career.
“I always read that Emerson is close to Juventus, but I can reiterate that there have never been contacts in this transfer window with the Bianconero club," Emerson's agent told Tutto Juve.
“Right now it’s hard to talk about his farewell, the boy only thinks of Chelsea.”
Emerson started for Chelsea in Wednesday night's win over Barnsley in the Carabao Cup.
But with Chilwell now fit, there are questions over whether Emerson will even get minutes as the Blues' number two left-back.
Nevertheless, he is said to be determined to prove himself with two years remaining on his contract following his €20 million move from AS Roma in 2018.
