Corrine Drewery, 54 "I studied fashion at Central Saint Martins, but I haven’t always got time to be as stylish as I’d like. This hat is by Mich Dulce and it’s made from banana fibre – I’m very interested in ethical fashion. I love graphic shapes and Japanese designers, but I only ever buy clothes in the sale – this coat is from When I Am Rich, in London E2. I like an androgynous look; I’m not very girly." Nancy Pickwick, 84 "I’ve had my blue hat for years. I bought it from Topshop and I made the side decoration out of scarves. Perhaps I shouldn’t be wearing makeup at my age, but I always have and I like it. I think I would have worn the same clothes when I was younger. Most of my clothes are loose-fitting, because I don’t like a waistband, but I’ve always been like that. I don’t like to wear greys, browns and blacks; I like reds, blues, greens and mauve." Linda Bee, 50-plus "I’m wearing an Issey Miyake coat – it was quite expensive, but every time I’ve worn it it’s caused a sensation. My mother was a couture dressmaker, so I’ve always been interested in fashion. Clothes have got to flatter; if something looks great, then there’s no age barrier. David Evans, 59 "I’d describe my style as classic with a country twist. I like tweed suits, but also casual wear: jeans and woolly jumpers. Today I’m wearing a vintage Tootal scarf, like they used to wear in the 50s and 60s. Two years ago I began to worry I might end up wearing cardies and slippers. I made a conscious decision to think about what I was going to wear."

Rosemary Goodenough, 61 "I’m wearing a coat and trousers by Issey Miyake, Christian Dior boots, a Rosemary Goodenough scarf and a silk bracelet I made myself. I want to be elegant. I don’t want to be mutton dressed as lamb, but I don’t want to be mutton dressed as mutton. I’ve loved every decade of my life, and think it would be sad not to evolve your look as you get older." George Skeggs, 70 "People say that as you get older, you become invisible, but that doesn’t apply to me. As an artist, I’m very creative. A few months ago I was standing outside the V&A in London and Kansai Yamamoto, who did David Bowie’s outfits for his Ziggy Stardust tour, asked for my photo. He said I had great style. My clothes can look boring and plain to most people, but to me they mean something, because they’re vintage, because of the places I’ve bought them or because of memories attached to them."
