Ageless Sting, 69, looks incredible in brooding snaps ahead of new album release

Sting has stunned fans with his age-defying looks as he releases a brand-new track ahead of his upcoming album.

The 69-year-old musician took to Instagram on Tuesday ,ahead of his appearance on Zoe Ball 's Radio 2 Breakfast Show on Wednesday morning, and got fans hot under the collar with a brand new snap.

Sat on a rock and posing in a deserted setting, the legendary singer wore leather boots and a striped t-shirt as he gave the camera a smirk in one of the latest promotional shots for his upcoming 15th studio album.

"Tune into the @bbcradio2 Breakfast Show from 7.30am/BST tomorrow to hear me chatting with @zoetheball before the world premiere of my brand new single on her show!" the dad-of-six told followers prior to his chat on the airwaves.

The star, who turns 70 next month, was flooded with positive comments from his loyal fans - many of who focused on his dashing looks rather than the revelation that new music is coming soon.

"Handsome," wrote one Instagram user, while another quipped "Oh that shot is a WOW" underneath his recent social media post.

"Wow you look gorgeous," a third added amongst the hundreds of comments left on the star's post.

On Wednesday, the artist revealed that his new album, The Bridge will be released on November 19 - with If it's Love being the lead single and out now.

The former Police frontman's upcoming LP was mainly recorded remotely in lockdown and sees the legendary star touch on topics of "personal loss, separation, disruption, lockdown, and extraordinary social and political turmoil."

In June 2020, the English musician lost his close friend and touring manager for four decades, Billy Francis.

"I may have spent more time with you than I’ve spent with my wife or my kids, literally thousands upon thousands of gigs, trekking from city to city, country to country, and enough long haul flights across the planet to reach to the moon and back," the singer wrote to his late friend in a heartfelt tribute upon his death at the age of 73.

The best-selling artist crediting his one-time colleague for the success of his band The Police and his subsequent solo career.

Ahead of his new collection of songs, the star has been reminiscing about the other people and places that have influenced his life over the years.

He said: "These songs are between one place and another, between one state of mind and another, between life and death, between relationships. Between pandemics, and between eras – politically, socially and psychologically, all of us are stuck in the middle of something. We need a bridge."

Sting, whose real name is Gordon Matthew Thomas Sumner, rose to fame as the principal songwriter, lead singer, and bassist for new wave rock band the Police from 1977 to 1984.

Since launching his solo projects in 1985, the Grammy Award winner has broke records and received multiple awards; including the Ivor Novello Award for Lifetime Achievement from the British Academy of Songwriters, Composers and Authors in 2002.
