The Hunter community will get a chance to have a say on the state of the aged care sector this week.

The Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety will hold a community forum at NEX - Wests City in Newcastle from 9.30am until 12.30pm on Wednesday.

According to the commission's website, there will be a chance for some people to make a brief statement.

There will also be an opportunity to provide written feedback to the commission as well as a chance for community members to speak with commission staff.

Registrations for the forum are necessary and have been taken over the phone and online in the lead-up to the event.

Some of the previous forums have been held in Canberra, Launceston, Rockhampton, Brisbane, Adelaide, Townsville and Wollongong.

The Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety was set up in October, 2018.

An interim report was delivered last month and the final findings are due to be handed down by November 12, 2020.
