Age-defying grandfather-of-seven, 56, gets regularly mistaken for being in his 30s

An age-defying grandfather-of-seven who gets regularly mistaken for a man in 30s has revealed the secrets behind his toned physique.

Andy Wilkinson, 56, from Coventry is regularly approached by women decades younger than him and has even been mistaken for his daughter’s boyfriend.

He has claims to only work out three times a week but said there is no magical short cut.

He said by sleeping in a blacked-out room for quality sleep, cutting back on carbs and having smaller portions, and not worrying too much are among the "secrets" to his ageless appearance.

Andy, who works as a personal trainer, said: “I know I look much younger than my age and often get mistaken for being in my thirties rather than my fifties.

“If I’m on holiday with my six-pack out, I get approached by ladies in their thirties and I’ve been mistaken for my daughter’s partner rather than her father on occasion which is embarrassing.

“My friends also think it’s hilarious when we go out to shock people with the fact that I’m a grandfather of seven."

Andy said he also gets propositioned on Instagram, with fans slipping into his direct messages to tell him how great he looks.

“A lot of people in their twenties and thirties message me on Instagram to tell me they aspire to have my body at their age which is very flattering," he added.

“Genetics help but there is really no secret besides hard work and diet."

However, the grandfather did share that he believes getting worked up over life's problems does not help the ageing process.

"Stress is a massive age shower as well so I try to not get myself worked up about anything," he admitted.

"I have a personal mantra which is 'everything will be ok' and that keeps me calm and carries me through.”
