Agape god rolls and how to get them in Destiny 2

The Edge of Fate expansion in Destiny 2 introduced a new tiering system for loot alongside multiple new weapons for you to chase. One of the new destination weapons is the Agape Solar hand cannon, which comes with some of the best PvE perks.

Agape is the new Heavy Burst Solar hand cannon. It’s the first of its kind and comes with perks like Heal Clip, Incandescent, Firefly, and more. While primarily a PvE weapon, there are some options for PvP, too.

Here are our Agape PvE and PvP god rolls in Destiny 2.

What is the Agape god roll in Destiny 2?

Agape PvE god roll

  • Barrel: Corkscrew Rifling
  • Magazine: Flared Magwell
  • Perk one: Heal Clip
  • Perk two: Incandescent or Burning Ambition
  • Masterwork: Reload Speed

Agape PvP god roll

  • Barrel: Arrowhead Brake
  • Magazine: Ricochet Rounds
  • Perk one: Moving Target
  • Perk two: Precision Instrument
  • Masterwork: Range

Agape has the golden Solar PvE perk combination of Heal Clip and Incandescent. Heal Clip grants Cure to you and nearby allies when reloading after a kill, and Incandescent is fantastic for add-clear while also applying scorch.

The new Solar perk in The Edge of Fate available on this weapon is Burning Ambition. It’s similar to Jolting Feedback on Arc weapons. Dealing sustained damage with the weapon applies scorch, and dealing damage to an already scorched target applies more stacks.

Reload speed

One thing to note is that Agape has abysmally low reload speed, so look for a Flared Magwell and/or a reload speed Masterwork. You might also want to use the Tactical mod for extra reload speed and handling.

Hunters with Lucky Pants can look for a Rewind Rounds and Vorpal Weapon roll to dish out as much damage as possible. It may not deal as much damage as Warden’s Law, given Agape is an Energy weapon, but it’ll get the job done if you need something else in the Kinetic slot.

On the PvP side, things are a bit trickier. The Edge of Fate only recently launched, and there isn’t enough data to judge if the Heavy Burst hand cannons are better in PvP than during The Final Shape. There’s a possibility they will be strong with a high investment in the Weapons stat.

In the meantime, there’s Moving Target in the third column for increased movement speed and target acquisition while aiming down sights. You can pair it with Precision Instrument or even Master of Arms in the fourth column, for increased damage.

How to get Agape in Destiny 2

Agape can drop from any activity on Kepler in Destiny 2. One of the easiest ways to get a Tier 2 drop early on in the campaign is by opening chests around the destination. Those often require you to solve small puzzles using dark matter abilities, like Matterspark, but drop better loot than regular campaign missions.

You can also attune to the specific Kepler drop at the Altar of Relativity in the Caldera region of Kepler. This is where the Aionians reside and where you must deliver multiple strangelet capsules throughout the campaign.
