The federal MP Allegra Spender and state MP Kellie Sloane say they received threats after condemning Saturday’s neo-Nazi rally outside NSW parliament on social media. The alleged messages included death threats and calls to “rhetorically rape” the federal MP.
The NSW premier, Chris Minns, told reporters the alleged threats were “another example of what particularly women in public life have to put up with”. Minns also rejected any suggestion there was a “double standard” in how the far right is dealt with compared with pro-Palestine activism.
