Good afternoon.

Debate over Isaac Herzog’s visit to Australia has continued as the Palestine Action Group announced nationwide protests would mark the Israeli president’s trip next month.

Anthony Albanese said he welcomed Herzog’s visit and that “this country needs to come together” to build social cohesion in the wake of the Bondi terror attack.

The Independent MP Sophie Scamps joined a growing chorus of concern, suggesting that Herzog’s presence would risk “igniting further division”.
